18th global consultation of the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education (ICETE) C-22 held in Izmir, Turkey
The Bible Institute lecturers attended the 18th global consultation of the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education (ICETE) C-22 held in Izmir, Turkey from November 14-18 with more than 500 participants from over 80 countries.
Michael A. Ortiz, International Director of ICETE, spoke at the opening session and said past gaps and missed opportunities for collaboration between formal and non-formal educational training, resulted in a continuous struggle to equip the growing number of pastors and church leaders in parts of the world where the Church has seen exponential growth. He challenged participants with a prayer saying, “may history measure C-22 Izmir not by our numbers, but by our mutuality in one common aim – to strengthen Christ’s Church”.
Lecturers from the Bible Institute participated in many workshops about theological education, discipleship, spiritual formation and training Christian leaders. Dr. Ervin Budiselic pointed out that he valued the group work and consultations at the conference because it allowed him to share experiences with other theological educational institutions and gain insight into challenges facing schools in other countries. He added that all participants were motivated to start acting and doing more to develop and invest in educational and training programs in their countries.
