{"id":11143,"date":"2026-02-19T13:03:22","date_gmt":"2026-02-19T12:03:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bizg.hr\/?post_type=novost&#038;p=11143"},"modified":"2026-02-19T13:06:28","modified_gmt":"2026-02-19T12:06:28","slug":"11143","status":"publish","type":"novost","link":"https:\/\/www.bizg.hr\/en\/novost\/11143\/","title":{"rendered":"Discipleship Conference &#8220;Step Forward&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Purpose of the Conference<\/h2>\n<p>As part of the research project \u201cDiscipleship in Evangelical Churches in Croatia\u201d, the Biblical Institute organized a panel discussion in September 2024 called \u201cConversations on Discipleship\u201d, bringing together a number of pastors to discuss discipleship.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"96\" data-end=\"138\">During that meeting, we began exploring:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"139\" data-end=\"344\">\n<li data-start=\"139\" data-end=\"195\">\n<p data-start=\"141\" data-end=\"195\">Challenges churches face in the discipleship process<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"196\" data-end=\"252\">\n<p data-start=\"198\" data-end=\"252\">Needs of churches and church leaders in discipleship<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"253\" data-end=\"344\">\n<p data-start=\"255\" data-end=\"344\">Examples of best practices in forming disciples that should be developed and encouraged<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"346\" data-end=\"439\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">This conference is a continuation of those conversations within the framework of the project.<\/p>\n<h2>Why This Conference?<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"149\" data-end=\"204\">At this conference, we want to take a <strong data-start=\"187\" data-end=\"203\">STEP FORWARD<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"206\" data-end=\"259\">(1) Bring together a larger number of church leaders.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"261\" data-end=\"308\">(2) Explore answers to the following questions:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"310\" data-end=\"952\">\n<li data-start=\"310\" data-end=\"449\">\n<p data-start=\"312\" data-end=\"449\"><strong data-start=\"312\" data-end=\"363\">What is discipleship? How should it be defined?<\/strong> = A clear definition helps us recognize whether discipleship exists in our context.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"450\" data-end=\"561\">\n<p data-start=\"452\" data-end=\"561\"><strong data-start=\"452\" data-end=\"486\">Why is discipleship important?<\/strong> = This is a fundamental question that shapes and guides everything else.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"562\" data-end=\"675\">\n<p data-start=\"564\" data-end=\"675\"><strong data-start=\"564\" data-end=\"606\">How do churches practice discipleship?<\/strong> = We will discuss methods, models, and principles of discipleship.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"676\" data-end=\"831\">\n<p data-start=\"678\" data-end=\"831\"><strong data-start=\"678\" data-end=\"753\">What obstacles, challenges, and needs do churches face in discipleship?<\/strong> = An opportunity to hear about the difficulties encountered in the process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"832\" data-end=\"952\">\n<p data-start=\"834\" data-end=\"952\"><strong data-start=\"834\" data-end=\"881\">What are positive examples of discipleship?<\/strong> = What works, what has proven successful, and what produces results?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Why This Conference Matters<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Most of the conference will take place in panel discussions, where church leaders will talk in groups about the topics above.<\/li>\n<li>There will be no lectures or teaching; instead, we will have conversations. We want leaders to hear one another, recognize what God is doing among us, and discover how they can contribute more\u2014both giving and receiving encouragement.<\/li>\n<li>Our goal is to gather in one place the experiences, lessons, testimonies, and examples of church leaders from our generation as a foundation for a better future.<\/li>\n<li>For this reason, it is important that panelists participate from start to finish: not only to share their insights but also to listen to others. Will this conference solve all challenges related to discipleship?
