New Book Published

We’re excited to announce the publication of a new book by our lecturer, Dr. Danijel Berković based on his doctoral dissertation. His book, Personal and Private Religious Experience in the Biblical Psalms, is now available through Lagham Publishing.

The book takes a closer look at the Psalms—one of the most beloved parts of the Bible—known for their deep emotion, honesty, and connection to everyday life. Dr. Berković explores the Psalms through a unique lens: how personal and private expressions of faith are revealed in their poetic form. By examining the role of the “psalmist” as both an individual and part of a community, the book opens up questions about religious experience, human emotion, and how poetic language helps express both. Drawing from theology, anthropology, and literary analysis, Dr. Berković offers new insight into how faith and feeling come together in these ancient texts.
