Conference “Music and Worship in Evangelical Churches in Croatia from 1990 to 2020”

Conference “Music and Worship in Evangelical Churches in Croatia from 1990 to 2020” - BIBLIJSKI INSTITUT Zagreb
08.04.2025.

On Saturday, April 5th, a conference was held at the Baptist Church Dubrava on the topic “Music and Worship in Evangelical Churches in Croatia from 1990 to 2020,” organized by the Biblical Institute from Zagreb and the Institute for Church Music and Worship at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek.

This conference provided an opportunity to present for the first time an overview and reflection on musical worship in Evangelical churches in Croatia. Many participants said this was their first opportunity to hear information about musical creativity, history and trends within these churches. Many important topics were raised, discussions were held on topics related to celebration and worship that deserve more attention (such as the importance of theology in songs, issues with different translations of the same songs, the process of translating songs, helping authors in the song creation process, etc.), with the desire to involve a broader group of people.

We thank Baptist Church Dubrava for once again providing their space for the conference, and we appreciate the presenters for the effort and time they invested in their research and presentations. We are planning new events and activities on this topic that will be organized by the Institute for Church Music and Worship at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek.
