Reformation Day at the Biblical Institute Zagreb

Reformation Day at the Biblical Institute Zagreb - BIBLIJSKI INSTITUT Zagreb
10.11.2025.

On October 31, the Biblical Institute Zagreb marked Reformation Day with an event titled “Balthasar Hubmaier – A Reformer Without Compromise.” The event emphasized the enduring importance of critical thinking and the courage to stand for truth.

Nino Brozinčević, M.A. presented the life and historical context of Balthasar Hubmaier, while Dr. Danijel Časni introduced Hubmaier’s 18 Theses, highlighting their relevance for today’s believers.

Though less known to the public, Balthasar Hubmaier (1480–1528) was a key figure of the early Protestant and Anabaptist movements. He advocated for freedom of conscience, believer’s baptism, and personal faith as the foundation of true reform. A passionate preacher, he was executed in Vienna for his convictions — a lasting testament to his integrity and courage.

Hubmaier’s life reminds us that Reformation is, at its heart, a call to live truthfully and responsibly before God. As we remember this day, may we reflect on what it means to live our faith authentically, pursue holiness and freedom, and foster honest dialogue within the Christian community.

“Truth is immortal.” – Balthasar Hubmaier
