Why do Christians Read the Bible Differently?

Over the course of three engaging two-hour sessions, our lecturer, Ervin Budiselić, shifted the focus away from simply providing “correct” answers or interpretations. Instead, he emphasized the importance of understanding the diverse ways the Bible can be interpreted and introduced practical methods for studying and interpreting Scripture more effectively.

The sessions covered a range of key topics, including:

• Various approaches to the Bible within different Christian traditions

• Objective factors that have shaped differing interpretations of the Bible

• Subjective influences on interpretation, such as assumptions and habits

Through interactive discussions and hands-on exercises using selected biblical texts, participants were encouraged to explore and apply interpretation techniques for themselves.
